I sometimes imagine a future where, if someone suddenly lost access to LLMs/AI agents, they wouldn’t be able to function properly or maybe wouldn’t even be able to hold a conversation. The more dramatic side of me imagines them essentially going comatose but that’s silly. Hopefully.

They essentially outsourced their writing and speaking ability, and it atrophied (Broca’s and Wernicke’s area).

  • Sable. At first it was amazing… the music, the world and the characters were all so well done. It was such an immersive experience. I’d probably still be playing it right now even after completing it (also the only game I would have bothered to get all the cheevos); however, nearer to the end of the game there’s a huge glaring bug the devs never bothered to fix: the best hover bike in the game bugs out whenever you drive over a sand dune and there are sand dunes everywhere in the game. That’s like the main feature of the world; it’s a desert planet. Every time you ride over a sand dune at top speed you’d spin every which way, your character would disappear, you’d stop moving and end up upside down halfway outside the map. One of the main selling points of the game was riding your hover bike around the world exploring places and just chilling out to the excellent music… well, this bug ruins the first two so all that’s left is the music.

It’s too bad… I really loved the game up to that point, which just so happened to be near the end where I couldn’t refund it… I don’t like badmouthing devs because there’s a LOT of work that goes into making a game that I don’t understand; however, no matter the reason, that’s a shitty thing to do. Such a massive bug that ruins the game should be fixed… but they were incapable of doing so and likely never will. My final words on this topic are: Incompetent assholes.

  • I think you have it backwards. The Jim Carrey that Inducted Soundgarden into the RnR Hall of Fame isn’t the real one, or rather, it’s his stage persona. The Jim Carrey that accepted the César award is the real one… he was tearing up and just being present and whole. I don’t really understand French, but to me it seemed like he was genuinely happy and grateful to accept the award as opposed to ‘You’re paying me to do this so I’ll do it.’

Someone sort of translated his speech here, or at least the gist of it ig:

    https://deadline.com/2026/02/jim-carrey-french-roots-rare-public-appearance-cesar-honor-1236737944/

His 2014 appearance was weird, but I think he was dealing with a lot of mental stress that he wasn’t able to effectively deal with. His speech at the César Awards was not weird and I don’t know why you think it is.

  • To add on to other peoples answers regarding the complete nutritional makeup of pet food; many animals can make a variety of the amino acids they need to survive with just a few inputs (like deer and cows eating only (mostly) plants), but some, especially predatory animals, cannot. They get those nutrients from the prey they eat, which in turn got them from the plants.

It essentially comes down to which enzymes any given organism can create, which ones their DNA codes for *or which microorganisms are allowed to exist within their system. Humans can’t make a bunch of these amino acids themselves. Many (maybe all of them, not that far into my class yet) of the reactions taking in place in any living organism are entirely reliant on enzymes to catalyze them; that is, without them these reactions would take millions of years to complete.

BTW there are appr. 37x1017 (3,700,000,000,000,000,000) reactions happening in your body every second. All of them (or at least a great majority of them) require enzymes to complete.
