When you say web, can you give an example of how you tried? I ask because I was building an app last year to upload images, and on android the native image chooser deliberately strips some meta data, location being the main one. I had to use a generic file uploader instead to work around it.
Edit: I should clarify this was Android but uploading via mobile browser
