Somewhere between principled and petty. I’ve got a mental blacklist of places or brands I won’t buy from because either they’ve wronged me, given shit service or done something I don’t agree with. And in recent years I’ve added countries to that list too.

That’s pretty handy, if I still ran Windows I wouldn’t want any of that shit to have internet access.
That’s a spicy opinion right there.

100%. Meanwhile that Samsung 1Tb in my server has a power on hours count of 116892 and is still happily chugging along (yes it’s got a cold spare ready to go ands nothing important on it lol).

Good advice, but I’ve been burned so many times I’m just going elsewhere.

That’s brilliant, I love it.

Have Seagate sorted their shit out? I have never had any other manufactures drives fail so often in the last 25 or so years. I have them a fresh chance about 10 years ago in a PS4 and guess what? It failed.
This just sounds like 44Tb of fucking about restoring data to me.

I grew up with every internet ad being likely hostile, you didn’t click any of them. It kinda stuck with me.
But also they went way overboard. If it’s a site funded by advertising and there was just a simple banner at the top or something then fine, I’d just ignore it still but whatever. But everything is so obnoxious now, so fuck ‘em.

Yeah that’s a hard no from me. Want me to prove my ID? I want you to prove that you’re not gonna store it. History suggests otherwise.
Not that I want to use your platform anyway.
Proudly owns a blue car in a sea of boring.
I will never understand your bizarre culture of ritual genital mutilation, but this is great!
Be my guest 🙂
