3D printers are even less useful here though. The rocket bit can be replaced with a cardboard tube and some balsa fins. The important parts are the active control and circuitry.
But I guess logic doesn’t really enter into the conversation anyway.

I don’t see how web 1.0 style sites are resistant to AI or bots. It’s kind of the opposite. Bots/AI are really good at pure text stuff.

You might be thinking of the original OpenID system. Instead of the OAuth2 thing we have now with OIDC (e.g. “Login with Google”), OpenID Connect didn’t require the site to be configured in advance with the auth provider. You just gave it your email address and off you went.
OIDC is generally superior security-wise but it’s held back by each site to establish a relationship with the upstream site.

Old fashioned forums are old fashioned. Circular logic but there’s a lot holding them back.

Self-hosted Planka. I use it for personal boards and it’s plenty for me. Integrates with Authentik/SSO too.

At least 100 of those employees implemented the feature to autocorrect JIRA to Jira, just to be haughty insufferable ass.

It was always a good time to create alternatives to Atlassian products.

When I checked the Fedi alternatives were far-right hangouts. Part of that unfortunate “free speech absolutist” == “asshole” phase.
It’s not Fediverse but I like Nebula. It’s more like a co-op so I don’t mind paying for it at all.

There are lots of ways to start a war but they all end the same: everyone sitting down to discuss peace. For some reason, no one thinks to try discussing peace first.

No. DisplayLink is video out over a regular USB protocol/connection, not “alt mode”. It’s for when you don’t have true video out. It’s compressed to hell and stupid.

Video out is frustratingly uncommon. Samsung, some Sony’s, and only very recently Pixels. Google was vocally against video out for a long time. And SD cards (gotta pay for drive). You were expected to roll the dice with whether Chromecast works with a random TV and wifi combination.
Pixels were popular for two reasons: the camera and “basic black rectangle” device (RIP Nexus).
Is there a tap to pay system that works on custom ROMs? I thought those really required SafetyNet/PlayIntegrity/Whatever-it-is-now.
I would rather not give up tap to pay but I will if I have to. It seems like trying to Magisk my way into getting Google Wallet to work would be a PITA.
