31·15 days agoYour POV:

Cool, I’d hate to live in a place where you can creep on your neighbors.
I bet it’s a pervert’s dream.
You think so? You think you have a right to install your camera on public property?
There are usually peeping tom laws that prevent this kind of thing, and it’s certainly cause for a civil harassment case if the person you’re spying on knows about it.
The real question is: why do you want the ability to film someone’s house like that unless you’re a creeper?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Fans of live theater: when you see an older peice do you read the play first or go in cold?English
8·24 days agoDepends how old. If it’s a Shakespeare play, I like to have read the play beforehand so that I can understand the nuance in the performance. If it’s an opera, I’ll probably read a synopsis beforehand. If it’s a stage play in English written since the 19th century I’ll probably have more fun going in without prior knowledge.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•"i am shocked at how many people don't have an actively hostile relationship with advertising"English
0·2 months agoIt blows my mind that some people on my team were excited to watch the commercials during the Super Bowl.
I live my life in a way that minimizes the advertising I’m exposed to, and some people are just mainlining that garbage.

It pisses me off so much when I go to the art museum and see a cool piece that the artist RUINED by putting an advertisement in the bottom corner.
And then the museum has the audacity to put another plaque with an advertisement next to it, too! The nerve on these people.
