I actually forgot that Game Grumps only play the newest of the new when it’s from a particular series or something.
Why did they get in trouble? Was it with Nintendo or the fans? I kinda remember some “controversy” over them using emulators instead of original hardware, but imo that’s bullshit. Sometimes old hardware isn’t better, and all kinds of things can go wrong with it.

Because they are? How many YouTubers are playing The Hot New Thing from Nintendo right now, because they bought it? They are the ones perpetuating this removed. It’s all a feedback loop meant to suck as much money out of the public as they can.
I can go and find at least 6 YouTubers that I subscribe to that almost always play the newest of the new thing so it’s featured on their channel. RTGame, Mo1stCr1t1kal/Penguinz0, Game Grumps, IronPineapple, VideogameDunkey, OboeShoes, hell even General Sam as much as I love his style and humor.
I played this one shortly after release and it honestly ran incredibly smoothly for me. The only issue I had was one of the bounties never showed so I couldn’t properly finish them, but I wasn’t too upset about it.
I actually loved the story, way more than Fallen Order. Dagan Gera is honestly a very cool and interesting antagonist (and it doesn’t hurt that his fights are fuckin cool with his one-arm-using-the-force-to-swing-his-lightsaber around thing). Even the minor villains, like that warlord guy, are pretty cool and aren’t just bad guys.
I loved the scavenger aesthetic that was so present throughout Koboh. The mercenaries use old armor and ships left behind from the Clone Wars, and they’ve even found a Lucrehulk full of droids to use.
The banter between enemies when they’re out on patrols is honestly top-tier, right up there with the random conversations enemies would have in the old Jedi Knight games. One of my favorites was a couple stormtroopers making their rounds, and one says “I like when we’re out on patrol together.” The other responds with “we do stand better odds with more people.” The first one is just like “yeah… That’s right…”
I saw an ad a few days ago for a game called Roadside Research.
It’s a gas station management sim where you play as an alien disguised as a human, running a gas station and “researching” humanity.
It looks pretty fun.
Yeah, seems about right for some of the purists out there. There’s a whole fucking subreddit dedicated to talking removed about them. It’s honestly sad.
Like it’s one thing to have a semi-parasocial relationship and call it “hanging out with your friends” but it’s another entirely to dedicate time out of your life to get upset and angry over a goddamn YouTube channel.
