

Thanks for the recommendation! Onirism is indeed a hidden gem, totally underrated. I believe the name Onirism means “dreaming/experiencing hallucinations while awake”, related to the word “oneiric” (dreamlike) or the Greek “oneiros” (dream), and has been applied to psychiatry and Romanian literature. Makes sense since the game is so dreamy and surreal. :)
Haven’t played it (or its sequel) myself, but I’ve heard this mentioned as one of the original games in this genre, potentially among those that paved the way for Ratchet & Clank (along with Blasto and maybe Jumping Flash, though Blasto is interesting in particular since the character looks a lot like Qwark from Ratchet). So I’d say yes, definitely - although from screenshots and gameplay footage, it seems like kind of a prototype of this idea, to be developed in later games.
